Jones Scores Again But Ads Edged In 3rd Period

by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators
Former Admirals forward Matt Beaudoin scored a 5-on-3 goal in the third period to help the Houston Aeros down the Milwaukee Admirals Tuesday, 3-1. The Aeros now have a two-games-to-one lead in the West Division Finals.

Milwaukee forward Andreas Thuresson was sent to the box at 3:34 of the third period for elbowing Houston forward Corey Locke. Just 37 seconds later, Nick Spaling was whistled for hooking, giving the Aeros a 5-on-3 power play. Beaudoin, who played two games earlier this season for Milwaukee, deflected a Maxim Noreau shot past goalie Drew MacIntyre to give the Aeros a 2-1 lead in the game at 5:14.

Houston's Krys Kolanos scored the first goal of the night at 5:41 of the first period. Standing at the left goalpost, kolanos received a deflected pass and put it into the net past MacIntyre. It was just the second time the opposing team scored first against the Admirals in the postseason...the Admirals are 0-2 in those contests.

Milwaukee tied the game when Thuresson started a nice cycle in the Aeros zone. Thuresson skated from behind the Aeros net into the slot and fired a shot that missed. Patric Hornqvist corralled the puck and followed Thuresson's lead, but instead of shooting he dropped the puck to Ryan Jones. Jones moved to the left circle before firing a wristshot over Houston goalie Anton Khudobin's glove for his fourth goal of the playoffs. The goal, scored with 1:35 left in the second period, was assisted by Hornqvist and Thuresson.

Locke capped the scoring with a 2-on-1 goal at 18:09 of the third period.

Milwaukee outshot Houston 28-16 in the game. MacIntyre recorded 13 saves.

Game four in the series will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Toyota Center.
