Jones, O'Reilly, Ortmeyer Re-Join Milwaukee for AHL Playoffs

Nashville, Tenn. (April 7, 2009) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned forwards Ryan Jones, Cal O’Reilly, and Jed Ortmeyer to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.
The three will join Milwaukee for the AHL playoffs, which are set to begin on Thursday, April 16. The Admirals are the No. 1 seed in the West Division playoffs and will host Rockford in the Divisional Semifinals.
In his first full pro season, Jones appeared in 46 games with the Predators and 25 with the Admirals, scoring seven goals and 17 points in the NHL with an additional 13 goals and 22 points at the AHL level. Acquired in a trade from Minnesota during the 2008 off-season, he made his NHL debut on Opening Night at St. Louis and scored his first career NHL goal five nights later in Dallas.
O’Reilly finished second on the Admirals – and tied for 15th in the AHL – with 69 points in 67 games at the AHL level this season. He appeared in 11 NHL games, posting three goals and five points, including his NHL debut on February 28 against Detroit. O’Reilly also scored one goal in the AHL All-Star Game and won the Accuracy contest at the AHL Skills Competition.
Ortmeyer missed the start of the season recovering from injuries suffered at the end of the 2007-08 season and made his ’08-09 season debut on December 4. He appeared in 55 games with Milwaukee, scoring 10 goals and 23 points. Ortmeyer was recalled by the Predators on April 3 and appeared in two NHL games this season.
