Nashville Predators defenseman Jamie Allison was claimed off waivers by the Florida Panthers on Monday. Allison, 30, was placed on waivers by the Predators on Saturday. If he had cleared, he would have been reassigned to Nashville's top minor-league affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Allison had posted four assists and 121 penalty minutes in 67 games over two seasons with Nashville. The 6'1", 210-pound native of Lindsay, Ont., appeared in 20 games for the Predators this season, but was a healthy scratch for a majority of the 2005-06 schedule as the team's seventh defenseman. The Panthers become his fifth NHL club in 11 NHL seasons. Prior to playing for Nashville, Allison spent time in Calgary, Chicago and Columbus.
