Jack Matier will don the Maple Leaf once again.
After impressing at Team Canada's junior selection camp, the 19-year-old Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., native earned a spot on the team's 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship roster.

This will be Matier's second time skating for his home country on the IIHF stage, after the blueliner won gold with Canada's U-18 junior team at the 2021 IIHF U-18 World Championship.
Selected by Nashville in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, Matier will fill out Canada's back end alongside first-rounders Kevin Korchinski, Nolan Allan and Brandt Clarke, as well as second-, third- and fourth-rounders Olen Zellweger, Tyson Hinds and Ethan Del Mastro.
Matier, currently skating with the OHL's Ottawa 67's, has 26 points (9g-17a) in as many outings.

Canada's National Junior Team will practice at the Garcelon Civic Centre in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, from Dec. 14-18, prior to the start of the World Juniors.
It will also face off against Switzerland on Dec. 19, Slovakia on Dec. 21 and Finland on Dec. 23 as part of its pre-tournament schedule.
The 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship begins on Monday, Dec. 26 with four games, including Canada vs. Czechia at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at 5:30 p.m. CT.
