The Nashville Predators will attempt to end their road trip on a high note when they meet the Los Angeles Kings tonight at the STAPLES Center. The Preds are 0-1-1 on their current three-game excursion with losses to Vegas and Arizona over the past week.
Tonight will provide a test against one of the best in the Western Conference, with Los Angeles owning 24 wins and 53 points, each one ahead of the Preds in the respective categories. Nashville is looking to bust their own slump, currently possessing a 2-4-2 mark in their last eight outings.

"We know they're a great team," Preds defenseman Mattias Ekholm said of the Kings. "It's going to be a test for us, for sure. These are the types of games you really need to bear down and bring your A-game. As long as we battle hard and we compete hard, I think we're going to have a great chance."

Last Time Out:
The Preds fell in overtime by a 3-2 final to the Coyotes on Thursday night. Ryan Ellis and Craig Smith scored for Nashville while Juuse Saros made 22 saves in goal. The Predators registered 39 shots on the evening, but a late power-play goal by the Coyotes forced overtime.
Defenseman P.K. Subban has 29 points on the season, followed by Kevin Fiala with 26 points and Viktor Arvidsson with 25. Craig Smith has 14 goals to his name, Arvidsson has 12 and Fiala has 10. Nashville's leading scorer, Filip Forsberg, remains out with an upper-body injury.
The Opposition:
Los Angeles is coming off a 4-3 loss to Calgary on Thursday, but had points in three straight prior to that, including a 5-0 win over Edmonton. Anze Kopitar leads the Kings with 17 goals and 43 points, followed by Dustin Brown with 15 goals and 32 points. Tyler Toffoli also has 17 goals on the season; Adrian Kempe has 12 goals. Jonathan Quick is 19-12-2 in goal with a .928 save percentage.

All-Time Meetings:
The Predators are 31-26-3-8 all-time against the Kings, including 18-11-0-6 all-time against Los Angeles at STAPLES Center. Nashville has picked up at least a point in seven consecutive games in Los Angeles (4-0-3) after taking down the Kings, 4-3 in overtime, on Nov. 4. Overall, the Preds have only lost once in regulation to the Kings in their last 13 meetings, with Nashville winning five straight from Nov. 2, 2013 to March 14, 2015.
