The Nashville Predators will try for their fourth win in five tries to start the 2018-19 season, as they wrap up their two-game series with the New York Islanders at Bridgestone Arena.
One week ago, it was Viktor Arvidsson who scored twice to lead the Preds to a 4-3 win over the Isles in Brooklyn and a sweep of the New York road trip. The Predators will now have an opportunity to top the Islanders once more in their first season under former Nashville bench boss Barry Trotz.
The Preds did not take to the ice on Friday following their 3-0 shutout victory over the Winnipeg on Thursday. The club did hold meetings, however, and the power play was surely a topic of discussion after going 0-for-9 with the man advantage against the Jets.

"You have to work at it and you give it extra attention, but we have a tremendous amount of confidence in the guys out on the ice," Predators Head Coach Peter Laviolette said. "I don't see this as a long-term problem. We have to work our way through it."
Still, the win on home ice was a positive for the Predators, their first in Nashville since the playoffs last spring.

Last Time Out:
Pekka Rinne stopped all 29 shots he faced as the Preds shut out the Jets in their first meeting since last spring's postseason series. Ryan Hartman, Roman Josi and Ryan Johansen all tallied for Nashville, while Hartman, Ryan Ellis, Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson all picked up helpers on the night.
Arvidsson, Forsberg, Ellis, Hartman, Mattias Ekholm and P.K. Subban are all tied for the team lead in scoring with three points apiece. Arvidsson is the lone Preds player who has scored multiple goals thus far.
The Opposition:
The Islanders are 2-1-0 on the season and have not played since they defeated the San Jose Sharks, 4-0, on Monday night. Josh Bailey and Matthew Barzal are tied for the team lead in points with four, followed by Valtteri Filppula and Anders Lee who have two goals apiece.
The Preds faced Thomas Griess last weekend in New York; he is 1-1-0 on the season, while Robin Lehner shut out the Sharks in his Islanders debut.
