Four Predators were in action on Day 2 of the 2008 World Championships, including Patric Hornqvist
with Sweden and three players from Team Finland.
Hornqvist had a memorable debut to the '08 tournament, netting a pair of goals in Sweden's 6-5 win over Belarus. He scored a power-play goal 6:23 into the second period to tie the game 3-3 and then netted an even strength goal 3:41 into the third period to even the score at 5-5, setting the stage for Niclas Wallin's game-winning goal almost seven minutes later.
Team Finland posted an easier 5-1 win over Germany in its first game of the tournament. Janne Niskala and Antti Pihlstrom
both recorded assists in the game, while Ville Koistinen skated, but did not get on the scoresheet. Niskala drew the first assist on the game's opening goal, a power-play tally by Mikko Koivu. Pihlstrom picked up his helper early in the third period.
