The Nashville Predators have re-assigned rookie forwards Patric Hornqvist and Ryan Jones to the team's AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals. The moves reduce the Predators active roster to 21 players, 19 skaters and two goaltenders.
Hornqvist has appeared in 15 of the team's first 18 games, but had been a healthy scratch in two of the last three games. He has scored two goals and seven points with 12 penalty minutes and 34 shots on goal. The 21-year old native of Sollentuna, Sweden is making his North American debut this season after opening his pro career with Djurgardens in Sweden.
Jones has also skated in 15 of the team's first 18 games, posting three goals and six points with four penalty minutes and 23 shots on goal. Acquired in a trade from the Minnesota Wild this summer, the 24-year old is playing in his first full professional season after four years in the NCAA ranks with Miami, Ohio.
The Admirals play a back-to-back set at Iowa this weekend (Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22), followed by three games next week on Wednesday (Nov. 26 at home vs. Peoria), Friday (Nov. 28 at Houston), and Sunday (Nov. 30 at Houston).
The Predators return to action tomorrow night with an out-of-conference match-up at the Tampa Bay Lightning (6:30 pm CT start). The Preds continue on the road at Carolina on Sunday afternoon (2 pm CT start), before returning home on Tuesday night (Nov. 25) to face divisional rival St. Louis in a nationally broadcast game on Versus network (6 pm CT start).
