The Nashville Predators travel to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets tonight in what will be the final preseason contest for both clubs. Columbus defeated the Preds in Nashville on Monday night by a 3-0 final.
The Predators reduced their roster by three skaters on Friday afternoon, assigning defensemen Johan Alm and Joe Piskula to Milwaukee of the American Hockey League, and sending 2014 first-round pick Kevin Fiala back to HV-71 of the Swedish Hockey League. The full release can be found here
Nashville now has 25 rostered players, including 16 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
The club had an optional session this morning from Centennial Sportsplex prior to their flight up to Columbus for this evening's contest.

Olli Jokinen, Eric Nystrom, Calle Jarnkrok, Filip Forsberg, Taylor Beck, Paul Gaustad, Gabriel Bourque, Colin Wilson, Mattias Ekholm, Seth Jones, Anton Volchenkov, Ryan Ellis, Shea Weber, Roman Josi, Victor Bartley, Pekka Rinne and Carter Hutton. Viktor Stalberg also skated with the club this morning, continuing to recover from a lower-body injury.
Head Coach Peter Laviolette said that Rinne is expected to start the contest, but may be replaced by Hutton at some point. Laviolette also acknowledged that he and the coaching staff will be adjusting line combinations and defensive pairings as the game progresses this evening.
