by Brooks Bratten / Nashville Predators

(5-1-2) Nashville Predators vs. Edmonton Oilers (4-4-1)
  9 P.M. | Rexall Place
TV: FS-TN | Radio: 102.5 The Game

The Nashville Predators are set to begin their season-long, 12-day, six-game road trip on Wednesday night, north of the border in Edmonton.

The Oilers got off to a slow start to the 2014-15 season, but have won four straight games, including a 3-0 shutout on home ice over Montreal on Monday night. In addition to keeping their streak going, Edmonton will also be looking for their fourth-straight win over Nashville. The Preds have lost three straight in Oil Country, but still hold the all-time advantage at Rexall Place, going 15-11-(1)-2 in Edmonton.

Tonight's contest signals the start of what has become an annual excursion away from Music City for the Preds in order to accommodate the hosting of the Country Music Association Awards at Bridgestone Arena. Nashville went 2-4-1 during last season's CMA trip.

Wednesday's game marks the first of three meetings between the clubs on the campaign, with the Oilers set to visit Nashville on two separate occasions within two weeks of each other in the month of November.

Preds defenseman Shea Weber has eight points (2g-6a) in his last nine outing against the Oilers. His point-per-game mark against Edmonton for his career (9g-13a-22pts, 29 gp) is second only to his output against Columbus for his highest against a single team.

Mike Ribeiro has 32 points (9g-23a) in 36 career games versus the Oilers, while Derek Roy has tallied 12 points (4g-8a) in 13 contests while facing Edmonton.

You can watch tonight's game on FS-Tennessee with the Nissan Pregame show beginning at 8:30 CT. Tonight's contest can also be heard on 102.5 The Game.
