The Nashville Predators return from a two-game road trip to host the Arizona Coyotes at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night. It's the first of three meetings between the two clubs this season and the only time that the Coyotes will skate in Nashville.
With a 2-0 win over Winnipeg on Friday night followed up with a 2-1 defeat in overtime to Chicago, the Preds have picked up at least one point in each of their first five contests in 2014-15, going 3-0-2 to start the campaign. The team's eight points in five games is the highest total to start a season since 2010-11 when the Preds also posted eight points in their first five.
Previously the Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona fell in their last contest, surrendering six goals to St. Louis. Through four games, the 2-2-0 Coyotes have allowed 18 tallies against.
Preds forward Mike Ribeiro skated in 80 games last season for the Coyotes, putting up 47 points (16g, 31a) over that span. In 40 career games against the Coyotes, Ribeiro has recorded 38 points, almost a point-per-game clip.
Olli Jokinen also saw time in the desert, dressing in 57 games for the Coyotes in 2008-09. The Preds forward posted 42 points for the club before being traded to Calgary.
