The Predators host the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at Bridgestone Arena in what will be Nashville’s home preseason finale. Including this evening’s game, there are two contests remaining on the exhibition schedule for the Preds, both against the Jackets, with the other matchup coming on Saturday in Ohio.

Nashville is down to 28 players on the roster, and although the team is starting to look more and more like what will be shown on Opening Night next week, there are still jobs up for grabs.

“We’re still heavy in the lineup and we have some tough decisions to make,” Head Coach Peter Laviolette said following the team’s morning skate. “Most of those decisions are in the lineup tonight. We talked to them and told them this can’t go on forever and we can only have 23 players for Opening Night, so make sure they bring their best tonight. We’ll have a lot of guys [competing] tonight.”

Forward Cody Hodgson and defenseman Barret Jackman, both free-agent signees for the Predators last July, are set to make their debuts with the club tonight after both skaters missed time with injuries.

Jackman is expected to skate on a pairing with Seth Jones, a combination that has been seen recently in practice, with Jackman stating he’s watched video of Jones in game situations in order to study up on the tendencies of his new D-partner.

Carter Hutton is expected to start in goal tonight for Nashville. For a look at the Blue Jackets projected roster and lines, click here
