Nashville Predators forward Simon Gamache was claimed off of waivers by the St. Louis Blues Tuesday. The 5'10", 186-pound native of Thetford Mines, Quebec was placed on waivers by Nashville on Monday as required prior to reassigning him to its AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals. Gamache had been recalled Monday from a conditioning assignment in Milwaukee.
Gamache had no points and was a minus-6 in 11 games with the Predators this season. He scored one goal in seven games for the Predators in 2003-04.
"Selfishly you want him to make it down to the farm team so that you have a little more depth, and then maybe have a chance for him to come back," Predators head coach Barry Trotz said. "But at the same time, when a player gets picked up, he's going to the National Hockey League and you've got to be happy for Simon."
