Dumont Earns Nashville Sports Council's Community Spirit Award

Predators forward J.P. Dumont has been named the recipient of this year's Nashville Sports Council's Community Spirit award. The award will be presented at this year's O'Charley's Dinner of Champions on Monday, March 2 at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel.

The annual Dinner of Champions honors outstanding athletic achievement, community service, and value added to the Nashville community through sports. The following awards will be presented for achievements during 2008: Sports Person of the Year; Fred Russell Lifetime Achievement (presented to Betty Wiseman of Belmont University); Amateur Athletics, High School Male/Female Athletics; High School Male/Female Team Athletics; Community Spirit (presented to Nashville Predator J.P. Dumont); Kaia Jergenson Courage Award (presented to legendary basketball coach Don Meyer); Sergeant York Trophy (presented to Tennessee State University); Volunteer of the Year (presented to Liz Parrott), and the Top Ten Sports Moments of 2008.
