Bunker Labs Nashville, Preds Connect Military Entrepreneurs

Preds President Leads Off Speaker's Series Connecting Veterans in Business

by Press Release @PredsNHL / NashvillePredators.com

Bunker Labs Nashville, a 501(c)3 organization committed to veteran entrepreneurship, will team up with the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, Sept. 19 to connect elite military innovators with area business and community leaders. The experience is part of Bunker Brews, a high-impact monthly speaker series designed to connect veterans in business, empower the Nashville entrepreneurial ecosystem, and foster growth, knowledge and success.

The event feature is a fireside chat with Nashville Predators President and CEO Sean Henry on the business of sports and cultivating a raving community. In addition, the Predators are hosting the Bunker Labs community for both games and a networking reception in between.

"The Nashville Predators recognize the military as a vital part of our Smashville community and aim to continuously support our service men and women through any channel possible, whether it be in-game Salutes to Service, community service initiatives or ticket specials," Nashville Predators President and CEO Sean Henry said. "We are honored to host Bunker Labs Nashville and to leverage our network to help military entrepreneurs launch and grow more businesses in our own community."

Bunker Labs Nashville Executive Director and former Marine Officer Blake Hogan remarked, "Nashville has yet again rolled out the red carpet for military entrepreneurs. The Predators are a great example of the heart of this city and the foundation of a great hockey town. Bunker Labs was introduced to the Predators via John Thompson of Thompson Machinery, and it has led to this incredible event which is proof the network effect is the key to opening doors for military alumni.

Following World War II, roughly 50 percent of returning veterans started a business. Today, approximately 25 percent of post-9/11 veterans state they want to start a business, yet veterans own less than 10 percent of small businesses. Veterans in Tennessee that are interested in starting and growing businesses now have access to resources, programs and most importantly networks via Bunker Labs Nashville
