Budish, Cehlin, Watson Make Strong Impressions at National Team Camps

by Jay Levin / Nashville Predators
Preds prospects Zach Budish, Patrick Cehlin, and Austin Watson had big weekends at the Junior National Team tournament in Lake Placid, NY. At the same time, Taylor Beck and Charles-Olivier Roussel put in strong showings at Hockey Canada's Evaluation Camp.

Budish and Watson combined for three second period goals as Team USA rallied from two goals down to beat Team Finland, 8-3, in the finale of the Lake Placid tournament on Saturday. Watson netted a pair of goals, the second and sixth US goals. Budish netted the fifth goal for the USA squad to finish the tournament with goals in back-to-back games after scoring the team's lone goal in Friday's loss to Sweden. Budish and Watson both finished the tournament with two goals in three games; Watson earned additional praise for his defensive play during the week.

Cehlin, a fifth round pick in this summer's draft, recorded two goals and an assist in four games for Team Sweden during the tournament. All three of his points came in games versus Team USA, scoring a goal and an assist to key Sweden's rally in the first meeting between the teams (an eventual 6-3 USA win, Sweden rallied from down 4-0 to pull within a goal before the US closed out the game) and adding a third period goal in second meeting (a 4-1 Sweden win).
