Nashville, Tenn. (March 29, 2017) - Bridgestone Arena and the Nashville Predators have announced the recognition from the National Weather Service in Nashville for its completion of the StormReady program. Completing this program states that Bridgestone Arena is approved as a NWS StormReady Supporter and is well-equipped to handle all severe forms of weather.
"We are excited to continue our work with our partners at the Office of Emergency Management and National Weather Service Nashville," Director of Public Safety for Bridgestone Arena Chad Ludkey said. "This partnership ensures that all guests entering Bridgestone Arena can rest easy knowing we have done everything possible to improve preparedness in the event of extreme disaster. Their safety is our number one priority."
On Wednesday morning, Senior Programmer for OEM Scott Harris and Coordination Meteorologist Krissy Hurley of NWS Nashville presented Ludkey and his staff a signed certificate stating the distinction. The Nashville Predators are the first professional sports venue in Nashville and first NHL team to complete the StormReady program.
