by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators
Jonathon Blum and Colin Wilson, Nashville's first picks in the 2007 and 2008 NHL Entry Drafts, were among the five prospects highlighted in Hockey's Future's 2008-09 Prospect of the Year annoucement. Hockey's Future, a web site dedicated to following and ranking NHL prospects, named Cody Hodgson as its Prospect of the Year.

Blum, the 23rd overall selection in the '07 entry draft, was the first of four honorable mentions for Prospect of the Year consideration. The website described Blum as, "unshakable defensively, and creative in possession of the puck,"  and cited his better than point per game offensive production in the WHL this season, as well as his incredible +53 plus/minus rating.

Wilson, the seventh overall selection in the '08 entry draft, was also among the four honorable mentions, calling him, "perhaps the top collegiate player in the NCAA this season." Hockey's Future noted Wilson's leading role in Boston University's NCAA Title season.

Vancouver Canucks goaltending prospect Cory Schneider and Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn were the other two prospects cited among the Honorable Mentions.
