American Heart Association's Go Red for Women

by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators

During this Thursday’s (Feb. 21) home game against Vancouver, the Nashville Predators, Saint Thomas Hospital and the American Heart Association will be teaming up to promote the Go Red for Women campaign. Go Red is a movement dedicated to women to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke.

Coaches and broadcasters will be donning red neckties to support the campaign and the Nashville Predators Dancers and Goal Girls will be wearing Go Red t-shirts. The Predators will also be honoring survivors of heart disease during the game.

These survivors of heart disease were treated at the hospitals of Saint Thomas Health Services: Baptist Hospital, Middle Tennessee Medical Center and Saint Thomas Hospital.

Heart disease remains the #1 killer of women, claiming over 500,000 women’s lives each year.

Yet only 20% of women name heart disease as a life-threatening condition.

By living a heart-healthy lifestyle, you can decrease your risk for developing heart disease.
