Ace's Got Skills hits town this week

by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators

Launched in September 2005 and supported by the National Hockey League and NHL clubs across North America, including the Nashville Predators, the Ace's Got Skills program is modeled after the NHL's popular All-Star Super Skills Competition. Got Skills gives boys and girls ages 9-12 the opportunity to come out and test their skill level in key ice hockey categories: fastest skater, most accurate shooter, shootout, hardest shot and best goalie.  Winners from local competitions qualify to compete at the National Finals. Registration fees collected by the program will benefit the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation.

Ace’s Got Skills events will take place:

  • Saturday, January 20 at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville TN for Squirt House and Squirt Travel players and goaltenders
  • Sunday, January 21 at Benton H. Wilcoxon Municipal Ice Complex in Huntsville, AL for Squirt House, Squirt Travel, Pee Wee House and Pee Wee Travel players and goaltenders
  • Monday, January 22 at Southern Ice Arena in Franklin, TN for Pee Wee House and Pee Wee Travel players and goaltenders

** You only need to compete in one competition location to qualify to advance to the finals. Individuals from each age group in House and Travel competitions with the highest scores out of all three Nashville market locations will qualify to advance to the National Finals.
