by Staff Writer / Nashville Predators caught up with Preds defenseman Wade Belak to ask him your questions -- questions submitted by you fans. Check below for his answers.

When did you first realize that you wanted to play pro hockey?
submitted by Laura W of Nashville, TN

It was probably my first year of juniors; it came out in the Central Scouting Ratings where I was suppose to get drafted and that kind of set in there. That was my first year of juniors so I just had plans on trying to make the team, I had never really thought about getting drafted or playing in the NHL. So that’s when it kind of sunk in. You just always think it’s so out of reach. When I was a kid I loved playing hockey, I loved watching hockey and I thought I would be cool to play in the NHL but I never really thought or worked to be there.

Have you ever considered a career in stand-up comedy after you retire from hockey?
submitted by Torrie R of Murfreesboro, TN

Probably not because I don’t know if I could perform in front of a live audience and have people hackle me. I don’t think my routine is that funny I just kind of go with the flow and kind of react in the situation. I don’t think I have a real stage act. I haven’t lived life to the fullest where I have had all those experiences; it has pretty much has been at a hockey rink or at home.

Is hockey the only sport your play? If not what other sports do you enjoy playing?
submitted by Hannah Cin Hendersonville, TN

I try to play golf, I’m not very good. I think I have pretty much given up on that. I love fishing. Anything to do with the outdoors I would say, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting. If it’s outside I will pretty much do it. And lawn darts.

Who is your favorite person to fight against and why?
submitted by Spencer T of Releigh, NC

New Jersey’s Patrik Elias, because I knew I was going to win. Him or Detroit’s Dan Cleary, fought him too. Any one who isn’t a fighter is probably the best guy to fight. Now there are just too many guys; if they are there to fight they are to fight. There is no easy fight.

How many tattoos do you have and what do they mean to you?
submitted by Ben G in Goodlettsville, TN

I’m counting right now. I have probably eleven tattoos and they all mean different things. I have my daughters’ names on there and my wife as the guardian angle. A few just designs. I have the Leonardo Baby Angles, if anyone is somewhat religious.

I think I am pretty much done. I finished this arm off this summer, my left arm and I think I am going to leave my right one alone for now. I might not get hired in another job after hockey so; no face tattoos or neck or anything. I don’t want to be a freak.
