Bio

Troy Stecher Bio

After three seasons with Penticton of the British Columbia Hockey League, where he was named the 2012-13 BCHL Interior Conference Defenseman of the Year, Stecher played at the University of North Dakota. In three seasons with UND, he had 53 points (13 goals, 40 assists) in 119 games before he was signed as a free agent to a two-year, entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks on April 13, 2016.

As a junior at UND in 2015-16, Stecher had 29 points (eight goals, 21 assists) and a plus-26 rating, helping the Fighting Hawks win the NCAA championship. He was named to the All-America West Second Team by the America Hockey Coaches Association.
