by Michelle Crechiolo / Pittsburgh Penguins
Tonight Penguins fans will have an opportunity to catch a pair of Pittsburgh prospects – Joe Morrow and Dominik Uher – in action, as ROOT SPORTS is airing the Western Hockey League’s Portland vs. Spokane beginning at 10 p.m.

Morrow, Pittsburgh’s first-round choice (23rd overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, ranks third among league defensemen in scoring with 53 points (16G-37A) in 51 games played. The 19-year-old, in his fourth full season with the Winterhawks, earned a long look at training camp in September with the Penguins. He skated in four exhibition games for Pittsburgh and tied for third on the team with four points (1G-3A).

Uher, Pittsburgh’s fifth-round choice (144th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft, is having a career year with Spokane as he’s got a team-leading 25 goals and his 54 points rank second.

Both teams have clinched playoff berths, with Portland’s 42-15-2-1 record placing them second in the Western Conference and Spokane’s 32-20-4-3 mark putting them fifth.
