Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Keven Veilleux has been named the TELUS Offensive Player of the Week in the QMJHL.
Veilleux, a forward for the Rimouski Océanic, collected two goals and six assists in three Rimouski wins last week. He added a plus-6 rating. Veilleux enjoyed his best outing of the week on Thursday, versus the Saguenéens, scoring one goal and assisting on two others in a 4-3 win. Moreover, he was named the game’s first star. Since being traded to the Océanic from Victoriaville, the 6-foot-5 forward has collected 11 points in five games.
The Penguins selected him in the second round (51st overall) in last June's NHL Entry Draft. He has 53 points (14+39) in 47 games this season.
