Two Penguins’ pre-season games will be televised locally, the team announced today.
The Pens’ Saturday, Sept. 25 game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at CONSOL Energy Center will be carried live by WPCW – Pittsburgh’s CW. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Tuesday, Sept. 28 home game against the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks will be shown on tape delay by FSN Pittsburgh. Game time is 7 p.m. and the broadcast will be aired following the Pirates’ post-game show that night.
FSN’s Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey will call the action for both games. The Sept. 25 game is being shown on Pittsburgh’s CW because of a scheduling conflict at FSN, the team’s regional television network.
“It will be an honor for us to televise the first pre-season game from CONSOL Energy Center,” said Chris Pike, Vice President and General Manager of KDKA-TV and Pittsburgh’s CW. “We’re especially excited because that is the ‘Ultimate Home Game,’ where the stands will be filled by students and youth hockey players.”
All 82 of the Penguins regular season games will be televised with a minimum 71 games on FSN Pittsburgh in high definition.
