The Pittsburgh Penguins held a “topping off” ceremony at the new Consol Energy Center today.
The event commemorated the last high structural steel beam being put in place. This took place one day less than a year after the arena groundbreaking ceremony (Aug, 14, 2008).
Penguins owner Mario Lemieux, CEO Ken Sawyer and local government officials were be on hand, as well as representatives of P.J. Dick/Hunt, the project’s construction manager.
