Tony Granato Named Assistant Coach for 2014 United States Olympic Team

Penguins assistant coach Tony Granato was named one of Dan Bylsma's three assistant coaches for the 2014 United States Olympic Team, it was announced today by USA Hockey.

Penguins video coordinator Andy Saucier was also announced as Team USA's video coordinator.

Granato is joined on the staff by Philadelphia Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette and Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards - a former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton head coach.

Granato, who is entering his fifth season as a Penguins assistant coach, previously represented Team USA as a player at the 1988 Olympic Games.

Granato also suited up for Team USA at three World Championships (1985, '86, '87), two World Junior Championships (1983, '84) and the 1991 Canada Cup.

Saucier is entering his second season with Pittsburgh following three seasons with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The Penguins have four coaches or executives associated with Team USA's staff with Ray Shero serving as associate general manager for the U.S.
