The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team's inaugural conference home game as part of Atlantic Hockey against the United States Air Force Academy highlights the fifth annual Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase, which will take place Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 at the CONSOL Energy Center, the new home of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Tickets for the 2010 Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase go on sale today and can be ordered by logging onto or calling 1-800-745-3000. Individual ticket prices for the event are $18 and $13 for reserved seating and $10 for general admission. Initially, all tickets sold will be in the lower bowl of the CONSOL Energy Center.

Tickets priced at $18 will be located in the six center ice sections (three on each side), while tickets priced at $13 will be located in six sections outside the blue lines nearest the goals. General admission tickets will be located in 10 sections (five on each end) beyond the goal lines.

Group tickets can also be purchased for the 2010 Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase. Groups of 20 or more will receive a special rate of $10 per ticket, and those seats will be located in the six reserved sections outside the blue lines nearest the goals.

For the third straight year the showcase will feature a tripleheader, with the RMU NCAA Division I women's team opening the showcase against Northeastern at Noon, followed by the Colonial ACHA Division I club program taking on Pitt at 3:00 p.m. The Robert Morris NCAA Division I men's program will close out the showcase by squaring off with Air Force at 6:00 p.m. Purchase of a ticket is good for all three games.

The Robert Morris men's team will play its first season as part of Atlantic Hockey in 2010-11 and own an all-time record of 6-4-0 against Air Force. The Colonials and Falcons haven't met since the 2006-07 campaign, and RMU owns a record of 2-2 against Air Force at home.

"The Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase has been a great hockey event for the previous four years at Mellon Arena, which culminated with us defeating No. 1 Miami (Ohio) last year," RMU men's head coach Derek Schooley said. "With our move to Atlantic Hockey, as well the excitement of a new arena in the CONSOL Energy Center, we are thrilled to continue the event in a state-of-the-art building against three-time Atlantic Hockey champion Air Force."

RMU's women's team will square off with Northeastern for just the third time in school history, with the two programs having split the two previous meetings. The Colonials earned a 3-2 win at Northeastern in the inaugural meeting Jan. 21, 2007, and the matchup at CONSOL Energy Center in October marks the first time Robert Morris will host the Huskies.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to play in the Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase this year at the CONSOL Energy Center," Robert Morris women's head coach Nate Handrahan said. "We will face a great opponent in Northeastern, which was a team ranked in the top 10 most of last year. We don't get many opportunities to play in a quality venue like the CONSOL Energy Center, and it will be an awesome experience for our student-athletes."
