Art of the Hit
The first episode debuts Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 10 p.m., exclusively on HBO. Viewers can tune in to watch the show following Wednesday’s 7 p.m. contest against the New York Rangers.

The four-episode, all-access series will take viewers inside the rivalry between Pittsburgh and Washington and will follow the Penguins and the Capitals as they battle twice in nine days, starting with a 7 p.m game in Washington at the Verizon Center on Dec. 23.

That contest, however, is the preview to the main event. The series will put the players in the spotlight as they prepare for the 2011 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic, to be played outdoors at Heinz Field on Saturday, Jan. 1 at 1 p.m.

The show is going to give Penguins fans an unprecendented behind-the-scenes look at captain Sidney Crosby, head coach Dan Bylsma and the rest of the team. Not only will HBO’s cameras be in the locker room, the training room, team meetings, and coaches offices, but they’ll also be following the players as they go about their lives outside of the rink.

HBO's cameras have been in the building since the team's annual Christmas party on Sunday, Dec. 5. They won't stop filming until after New Year's Day.
