Defenseman Teddy Sawyer of DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite has committed to the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League.
The 6-foot, 165-pound defenseman was selected by Ottawa in the third round of the recent OHL draft.
Sawyer split time with the Penguins Elite 15U and 16 U teams this season, producing 14 goals and 33 assists for 47 points.
"Teddy is a defender who is an excellent skater and plays an aggressive style," said 67's general manager James Boyd. "We are pleased that the Sawyers chose the 67's for the next phase of Teddy's development and we welcome them to the organization."
Sawyer is the second Penguins Elite player to commit to an OHL team in the past week, joining goaltender Aidan Campbell (Erie Otters).
