After a strong start to the season where the Penguins earned a pair of 6-2 victories over Arizona and Tampa Bay, they traveled to Montreal for their first road game of the year on Monday at Bell Centre.

After a scoreless opening period, Evgeni Malkin scored twice in the first eight minutes of the second to give Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead. But from there, the Canadiens rallied in the final frame to force overtime, where they converted a power play to earn the comeback victory.
Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan wasn't too pleased with what he saw from his group, and shared his insights after the game.
On if he's surprised by the team's performance after they played at such a high level in their first two games:"I don't know if surprised is the right word. We didn't have our best, that's for sure. We got outplayed. We got what we deserved tonight."
On if tonight was Montreal native P.O Joseph's best game so far:"You know, P.O is competing hard for us out there. I think it's a tough one to evaluate, because I don't think our team was at its best."
On how disappointing it is to give up three unanswered goals in the third: "It's real disappointing. I thought we didn't like the first period, at all. I thought the second period, we started to play. I thought we were probably the better team in the second period, but that's one period. It's hard to win in this league when you only play one period."
On if Casey DeSmith, who made 36 saves in his season debut, was a bright spot: "Yeah, he was. I thought he made a lot of timely saves. He gave us a chance to win."
On Jeff Petry saying it was unacceptable for him to take all three of Pittsburgh's penalties, including the one in OT:"Obviously, you don't want to take one in overtime. We've got to be more disciplined in those circumstances."
On if the power play, which went 0-for-3 and had an off night, was a microcosm of the team's performance:"Yes."
