Brian Strait is going to wear the Team USA jersey once again.
The Pittsburgh Penguins prospect was among the 22 players named to the 2008 U.S. National Junior Team. The squad will compete at the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Pardubice and Liberec, Czech Republic, Dec. 26-Jan. 5.
Strait, a 2006 third-round Penguins draft choice (65th overall), is the oldest player on the roster, as he will turn 20 on Jan. 4, the day of the World Championship's semifinal round. The Boston University sophomore defenseman is a former captain of the U.S. National Under-18 Team.
Strait has seven assists and six penalty minutes in 15 games for the Terriers so far this season. He has eclipsed his freshman total of seven points (3+3) in 36 games last year.
Team USA earned the bronze medal at the 2007 IIHF World Junior Championship in Leksand and Mora, Sweden.
