10:55 PM: The team takes their picture with the cup.

10:49 PM: Malkin takes his turn hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup.

10:46 PM: Crosby passes the Cup off to Guerin, Guerin hands it off to Gonchar.

10:45 PM: Crosby hoists the Stanley Cup over his head.

10:44 PM: The Stanley Cup is being carried out onto the ice.

10:42 PM: Commissioner Gary Bettman announces that Evgeni Malkin is the winner of the Conn Smythe trophy. Malkin lifts the trophy over his head. The crowd is chanting, "Geno, Geno!"

10:39 PM: The teams meet at center ice and exchange handshakes.

10:38 PM: The Penguins celebrate with hugs on the ice.

10:37 PM: THE PENGUINS WIN! THE PENGUINS BEST THE RED WINGS 2-1 TO WIN THE STANLEY CUP!

10:36 PM: Another faceoff with 6.5 seconds left on the clock.

10:34 PM: Osgood back out, 16 seconds on the clock.

10:34 PM: 32 seconds left and Detroit is whistled offsides, Osgood returns to the net.

10:33 PM The Wings pull Osgood with 1:17 left.

10:30 PM: Kronwall launches a shot off of the crossbar.

10:25 PM: Malkin winds up and unleashes a slapshot that Osgood is able to block.

10:24 PM: Ericsson one-times a shot past Fleury's glove side to cut the Pens' lead in half with 6:09 left in the third period. Pens 2, Wings 1.

10:22 PM: Satan and Fedotenko break into Detroit's zone but cannot get a shot off.

10:21 PM: A lot of action in the Penguins' end but the Pens are playing strong defense so far.

10:18 PM: Fleury deflects a Filppula shot into the netting.

10:14 PM: Orpik helps to clear a loose puck out of the crease.

10:13 PM: There is a strong "Let's Go Pens," chant here at the Joe.

10:09 PM: The Pens kill of the penalty.

10:07 PM: Detroit goes on the power play as Eaton goes to the box for tripping.

10:03 PM: The puck drops for the third period.

10:02 PM: Crosby is back on the bench for the start of the third period.

9:46 PM: Numbers to note:
-Shots are tied at 17-17 after two periods.
-Not surprisingly, Talbot leads the Penguins in shots with three.
-The Red Wings have 17 giveaways so far in the game while the Pens have 9.
-The Red Wings lead the game in hits, 30-27.

9:43 PM: The second period expires as Fleury slides across the crease to make a pad save on Zetterberg.

9:41 PM: Fleury makes a great glove save on a Samuelsson shot from the center point.

9:38 PM: Fleury gloves down a Samuelsson shot. 

9:36 PM: Malkin and Helm collide in the neutral zone and both players sprawl to the ice.

9:32 PM: Kunitz and Guerin are joined by Staal. They create a few chances on their shift.

9:24 PM: Talbot scores again! The Pens catch the Wings on a bad line change and Talbot and Kennedy earn a two-on-one. Talbot wrists a shot over the glove of Osgood to give the Pens a 2-0 lead. Pens 2, Wings 0.

9:21 PM: The Pens kill off the penalty.

9:18 PM: Gill goes to the box for holding and Detroit goes on the power play.

9:15 PM: Crosby heads to the locker room with an apparent injury after a collision with Franzen along the boards but his status is unknown.

9:14 PM: Fleury pokes the puck away and Cooke ends up with it in the neutral zone. He skates in and wrists a shot that Osgood covers up.

9:13 PM: The four-on-four expires.

9:09 PM: Staal and Holmstrom get matching penalties and the game goes to four-on-four.

9:08 PM: Talbot nets the first goal of the game! He intercepts the puck in the far corner and wrists it five-hole on Osgood. Pens 1, Wings 0.

9:06 PM: The second period begins.

8:50 PM: Numbers to note:
-The Pens outshot the Wings 10-6 in the first period.
-Kennedy and Staal lead the game in shots with two each.
-Detroit had 9 giveaways while Pittsburgh had 6.
-Pittsburgh had 5 takeaways in the first period.

8:48 PM: The period expires.

8:47 PM: Malkin, Fedotenko and Talbot complete an excellent shift mostly in Detroit's end as the period expires.

8:46 PM: Fleury denies Maltby with a glove save.

8:44 PM: Fleury pokes the puck away from Filppula in the crease.

8:43 PM: Malkin takes a backhand shot that gets blocked.

8:39 PM: 4:47 left in the first period. The Pens are outshooting the Wings 7-4 so far in the game.

8:36 PM: Crosby sets up Malkin with a great chance but Malkin fans on the attempt. The power play expires. The Pens looked great but couldn't manage to convert.

8:34 PM: Stuart goes to the box for slashing Malkin's stick.

8:32 PM: Fleury gloves down an odd bouncing-lob shot.

8:28 PM: Kennedy flies into Detroit's zone and flips a shot that bounces off of the side of the net. Staal follows it up but nothing comes of the chance.

8:27 PM: Eaton prevents Zetterberg from getting a shot off at the near faceoff dot.

8:25 PM: The arena welcomes Muhammed Ali with applause and both teams tap their sticks on the ice in his honor.

8:24 PM: As the TV timeout commences a vehement "Let's Go Pens" chant breaks out.

8:19 PM: There are competing chants of "Let's Go Red Wings," and "Let's Go Penguins," at the Joe Louis Arena.

8:16 PM: Fleury makes a pad save on Zetterberg.

8:15 PM: The puck drops to start the game.

8:10 PM: Both teams are on the ice.

8:03 PM: Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final has arrived. It doesn't get any bigger than this. Scratches for the Penguins tonight are defensemen Alex Goligoski and Philippe Boucher and forwards Mike Zigomanis, Petr Sykora and Eric Godard.

Scratches for Detroit are Jimmy Howard, Justin Abdelkader, Derek Meech, Chris Chelios, Darren McCarty, Aaron Downey, Jakub Kindl and Tomas Kopecky.
