Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was named "most complete player" in a poll conducted during the 2021-22 season of nearly 500 NHL players from all 32 clubs by the NHL Players Association.

Crosby was named most complete player on 29.5% of ballots. Of the 522 players that voted on this question, 154 chose the Pittsburgh captain. Crosby was selected by his peers as most complete player for the second-straight season.
Crosby was also the leading vote-getter as the NHL's "best role model", receiving a whopping 42.7% of all votes. Boston forward Patrice Bergeron came in second place with 9.8% of the 374 ballots cast.
