Bethel Park’s Mike Shipley, Butler’s Jake Whann, Elizabeth Forward’s Justin Delmaster and North Allegheny’s Ryan Worsena are being honored tonight by the Pittsburgh Penguins as Highmark High School Hockey Players of the Month for December.

The Penguins and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield honor high school players of the month four times each season.
Shipley, a senior defenseman who serves as Bethel Park’s captain, contributed a goal and three assists and spearheaded a defensive effort that helped the Blackhawks hold opponents to just three goals in three games in December.
Whann, a junior defenseman who also is captain of Butler’s team, chipped in four assists and provided exceptional leadership and two-way play for the Tornado.
Delmaster, a senior forward, exploded for seven goals and 12 points in four games to lead the Elizabeth Forward attack.
Worsena, a senior forward who is one of North Allegheny’s captains, had six goals and nine points in four games – including two game-winning goals.
The Penguins are proud supporters of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL), as well as all local amateur hockey.
