The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Bryan Rust to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Rust, 23, had spent the last 15 games on injured reserve after being sidelined against Nashville on Oct. 24.
Rust has played in two AHL games for WBS this year, contributing one assist. He was scoreless in five NHL contests.
The WBS Penguins have sprinted out of the gate to a 16-2 record under first-year head coach Mike Sullivan, which includes a perfect 10-0 home mark. WBS is next in action this Friday against Lehigh Valley at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
