Here's what the Pens were saying in the locker room heading into their Rivalry Night matchup with Chicago…
INJURED PLAYERS' STATUS:
Sullivan: "Conor Sheary and Chad Ruhwedel will be game-time decisions, but they're highly probably. (Guentzel and Hainsey) I don't believe will be available for tonight."
Sheary: "I should be good. Yesterday was the test day. This morning I felt good, so I should be good."
Guentzel: "It's still day-by-day. I want to be safe. It is good to be with my teammates out there. Contact helps out a lot. It is a step in the right direction."
Hainsey: "Getting closer. I was in a regular shirt today. I'm getting better so it's good. I feel better."
ON THE LAST MEETING BETWEEN THE TEAMS, A 4-1 BLACKHAWKS WIN ON MARCH 1:
Crosby: "It was a great hockey game. We were on the wrong side of things, but not because of lack of effort or chances. It was an up and down game with a lot of skill on display. Games aren't always like that. I think there's so much structure in the game it's hard to find games like that. There's a few that stick out and that's certainly one from this year where you look back and it was a fun one to play in and I'm sure fun to watch."
Dumoulin: "It was up and down the whole time. There was scoring chances for both teams and it was a tight game. Obviously they ended up beating us and it's one for us to try and get the second game back from them."
ON WHAT THEY EXPECT TONIGHT:
Hornqvist: "I expect a really good game. They are really fast. We played them there three weeks ago in their building and it was a really fun game. There was a lot of speed and a lot of skilled people out there. I think we are all looking forward to this game."
Bonino: "Obviously they've got very dangerous scorers and they've got a very solid D corps. Their goalie's always good. They're one of the top teams in the league. I don't think there's anything that will surprise us. We know how good they are. They're a little banged up too, they're missing a couple guys. Should be a good game. We're both trying to improve our overall standing and we know we need these points."
ON HOW TO DEFEND A TEAM LIKE CHICAGO:
Dumoulin: "You just look at the skill they have up front and they can make you look silly. They're the type of team that if you give them time and space, they can make you look bad and they can score some goals. But also if you're tight against them, they can make plays and burn you too. So it's kind of where you've got to be sharp and you've got to be on top of your game whenever you play a team like this. It should be a fun one tonight. I remember our last matchup against them was a fun one too so I'm expecting that again tonight."
ON THE URGENCY TO WIN AFTER THREE LOSSES:
Hornqvist: "I think actually we have been playing pretty good. We haven't won in the last three games, but our work ethic is there. We just have to find a way to put the puck behind the net and in the net. Other than that I think doing the right thing and trying to get going again."
ON TRYING TO BUILD MOMENTUM DOWN THE STRETCH:
Rust: "We need to find a way we want to play and play a little bit more consistently than we have in the last few games here or however long. That comes with just trying to stay the path and hopefully things come."
