Quote Roundup: Pens-Caps

by Sam Kasan @PensInsideScoop / Pittsburgh Penguins

Here is what the Pens had to say on their rivalry showdown with the Washington Capitals tonight…

HORNQVIST POSSIBLE RETURNING

Hornqvist: "It's going to be a game-time decision. Every time I go on the ice I feel better. It's fun to be on the road with the boys and be out there. Hopefully I can play a game really soon."

Sullivan: "He brings a ton of energy to our dressing room, on the ice, on the bench. He plays the game with a lot of passion. He's hard to play against. He brings some grit to our lineup and he helps us in a lot of capacities. … He has the ability to create space for players just by going to the net."

Crosby: "He brings a lot of emotion on the ice, and in the room he brings that energy. Especially with a game like this, these are the types of games that he likes to be in. You're always excited to get guys back. That's what he brings."

FACING THE CAPITALS

Crosby: "They're intense games, emotional games. Those are the ones you want to play in."

Hornqvist: "This is a big rivalry. We know Washington really, really well. We've played them the last two years in the playoffs and they've been tight matchups. They have a good team. We have a good team. We're all expecting a good game from everyone."

STOPPING OVECHKIN

Crosby: "He shoots the puck a lot. He's got a great shot. He's finding spots. You just try to limit those chances. With the way he shoots the puck he's going to generate some (chances). You just have to try to limit them."

Dumoulin: "He's been shooting the puck a lot. He does always, but he's been shooting it a lot more. Pucks seem to be going in for him. With a little confidence with him, he's dangerous. He's a guy that doesn't need a lot of time and space. He'll be a key factor tonight for us to shutdown."

ODDS AND ENDS

Sullivan on Cole: "We still don't have a definitive timeframe. He's making progress. The last couple of days he improved more than we expected him to. We're hopeful that he'll get back in a timely manner."

Hornqvist on his Cup-winning goal, scored with a broken hand: "We all played through a lot last year with injuries. It was a big moment for me. To play against Nashville in the Final and to score that goal, it can't get any bigger for me."

Dumoulin on PK: "We've done a good job when one guy pressures, everyone pressures. We have a good unit. All of the guys on it can skate. We've done a good job of putting power plays under pressure and exploiting that."
