Here is what the Pens had to say heading into their Friday night contest against Carolina…

MIKE SULLIVAN
On Hornqvist and Kuhnhackl: "Hornqvist will be a game-time decision. Kuhnhackl continues to make progress. He will not be in."
On Carolina: "They can skate. They're a team that has a lot of balance. They have as mobile a defense corps as there is in the league. They play a fast game. Their team game is about speed. That's what I think makes them what they are. They're a good hockey team."
PATRIC HORNQVIST
On his health: "Everything went really well with rehab. My strength is back. I feel ready to go."
On jumping back in: "We'll see what happens. It's not the best feeling to sit on the sideline. The guys have been playing really well. We really turned it around since the new year."
BRYAN RUST
On the Hurricanes: "They're a good, young, fast team. We expect them to come out fighting for every point. That's how it's going to be the rest of the way. It should be a fun one. They're a team that works extremely hard. We have to match their compete level."
On the 4-day break: "It's been a good balance of trying to get some things done, but also trying to get some rest. This time of year rest is a weapon. To have an extra day or two to let the legs recovery, let the body recover, and getting away from it mentally helps."
On playing with Malkin or Crosby: "It doesn't really matter what line you're on. You're playing with some pretty special players. Sid, Geno, Phil. There are a lot of guys in this room that are special players. That just makes it more exciting."
TOM KUHNHACKL
On Germany's Olympic victory against Canada: "I set an alarm just to make sure I got to watch it. Obviously a really exciting match. They made it a little interesting at the end, but all that matters is that they're going to the Gold Medal Game."
On texting his teammates: "I texted a couple. One FaceTimed me so I got to experience the locker room a little bit. It was incredible."
On this moment for German hockey: "We've never been in a Gold Medal Game. We've never beat Canada. This was a really exciting morning. Hopefully we can go all the way now. Now anything is possible."
On his health: "It's nice to be back out there. Hopefully another step tomorrow in practice, feel better everyday and go from there."
