ian cole sidekick vs dallas stars

Here is what the Pens had to say about tonight's game against the Avalanche.

ON COLORADO
Crosby: "They have a lot of speed. I caught a little bit of their game last night. They generate offense off of the rush. We played a similar team last night (Calgary). It's something we'll have to make sure we're ready for."
Cullen: "They have a lot of dynamic forwards up front that can make things happen. For us it's about our game. Knowing that team, we have a strong idea about the way they play and what they can do. For us it's about managing the puck coming out of our zone and through the neutral zone."
ON PHYSICALITY OF THE SPORT
Crosby: "It's all instinctive. You have to know the score, the team you're playing against and what they're trying to do. It's a fine line. We've done a pretty good job of managing things that way. Our game is a speed game. We want to finish hits when we have the chance, but not going out of our way."
Cole: "Sometimes there are plays where a guy needs to take a hit to make a play. As defensemen we try to make guys commit to us, take hits to make plays. It's a game with hitting, both ways and teams will try to hit us. We have to play through it and play our team game."
Sullivan: "We aren't going to retaliate. That's not the answer. The answer is to play hard. Physicality is part of the game. We understand it and we know how to play against it. The most important thing is that it doesn't deter us from playing the game we need to play to have success."
ON THE DADS TRIP
Crosby: "It's a lot of fun to see the similarities between the fathers and the sons. Having them around brings you back to minor hockey tournaments together and traveling with them. It's really nice the team organizes this. It's a good opportunity for us to spend time with our dads at the rink and around the rink, and have them experience everything we go through day-to-day. They really get excited for this trip."
Cole: "It's great to have old Dougie Cole here in town. It's good to have all the dads. They're fantastic guys. They're just as excited about our success as we are. It's good to share it with your dad, who molds you into a hockey player. The moms play their part as well."
Cullen: "It's nice not being the oldest guy in this room. I feel like a spring chicken. It's a awesome."
Kessel: "It's always nice when your dad can be with you. It's a fun trip."
Sullivan: "It's a great gesture that our ownership does to give this opportunity for our players to spend some time with their dads. We met with them this morning. We told them it is our way of showing our appreciation for the support that they give their kids and what they've done to help these guys be the people and players that they are."
ODDS AND ENDS
Crosby on being better on the road: "It's always a little tougher on the road. You need to make sure you simplify things, get momentum, good starts, things like that. This time of year you want to establish your road game and make sure we're better there."
