Pittsburgh Penguins to Salute Fans With 'Fan Appreciation Night' Thursday

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins
Twenty three lucky fans will literally receive the “Shirts Off Our Backs” when the Pittsburgh Penguins hold Fan Appreciation Night on Thursday against the New York Islanders.  Fan Appreciation Night is presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Prizes will be awarded throughout the final regular season home game of 2008-09 at Mellon Arena, but the highlight will be a post-game ceremony where 23 fans, chosen at random, will receive the Penguins’ jerseys from the game (scratched and injured players will also participate).

“We receive incredible support from our fans, as evidenced by our 106-game sellout streak, and this gives us one more chance to say ‘thank you,’ to the people who make it all possible,” said team president David Morehouse.

Before the game, the Penguins will hold their annual team awards ceremony. Fans are asked to be in their seats by 7:25 p.m.
