The Pittsburgh Penguins play their first preseason game on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:30PM against the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.
Fans can listen to Tuesday's game on the team's flagship radio station, 105.9 'The X', with Josh Getzoff and Phil Bourque calling the action.
Pittsburgh plays again on Wednesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks at 8:30PM at the United Center. NHL Network will be broadcasting that contest, and it can also be heard on 105.9 'The X'.
On Friday, September 30, the Penguins play their first home preseason game at 7:00PM against the Blackhawks at CONSOL Energy Center.
The home preseason opener against Chicago will be televised on Pittsburgh's CW with the crew of Paul Steigerwald, Bob Errey and Dan Potash on the call.
Pittsburgh concludes its exhibition schedule on Saturday, October 8 at 3:00PM against the Columbus Blue Jackets at CONSOL Energy Center. That afternoon will mark the sixth annual 'Free Game for Kids'. Over 18,000 tickets for that game will be distributed to various youth hockey and kids organizations throughout the region.
The final four Penguins' preseason games will be televised locally, with the September 30 and October 2 games airing on Pittsburgh's CW, and the final two contests on October 5 and 8 broadcasted on ROOT SPORTS.
All six exhibition contests can be heard on 105.9 'The X'. Getzoff will handle play-by-play duties alongside Bourque for the first five games, then Mike Lange will return to join Bourque for the exhibition finale against Columbus on October 8.
