Pittsburgh Penguins 2010 Score One For Life Blood Drive

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins will host their annual Score One for Life Blood Drive in partnership with the Center Blood Bank.  The drive will be held on Monday, September 20 from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm at the CONSOL Energy Center.  In addition to helping save lives, blood donors will have the opportunity to watch the Penguins team practice if they register between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm!  Also, all blood donors will receive a commemorative t-shirt and are eligible to win Penguins memorabilia.

Donors should enter the CONSOL Energy Center at the Verizon Gate on Centre Avenue.  Parking is available in the East Lot of the CONSOL Energy Center.  The blood drive is open to the public and healthy adults over age 17 are eligible to donate.
The Score One for Life Blood Drive has been a team effort between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Central Blood Bank since 1992.  The drive is traditionally scheduled during a time when blood donations drop to critically low levels.  A long summer of low donation rates often culminates in a severe shortage of blood by September.

For additional information on the Score One for Life Blood Drive or to make an appointment, please contact the Central Blood Bank office at 1-866-DONORS-1 or 412-209-7010.
