Pet Supply Collection Presented by Walgreens Set for January 31

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins
Fans can provide a valuable assist to the Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center on Tuesday, January 31 when the Pittsburgh Penguins battle the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Penguins and Walgreens will host the team’s first-ever pet supply collection before the January 31 game. All items and funds collected will help the Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center provide comfort and assistance to our furry, four-legged friends in search of a good home. Fans are encouraged to donate such items as donations of dry kitten and puppy food, treats, and toys.

The Animal Rescue League Shelter and Wildlife Center strives to provide temporary shelter, food, medical attention and comfort to all abandoned, neglected and injured animals brought to them by the community; to restore lost animals to their owners or seek new homes for them, and educate the public about humane care of animals with a goal of reducing overpopulation.

They also work to rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned wildlife and to provide educational programs to regional residents in order to help foster an appreciation for conservation and a harmonious existence between humans and wildlife.

Donations of pet supplies or cash will be accepted at the American Eagle, Trib Total Media and Verizon Gates from the time gates open to the public until 10-minutes into the first period. Fans who contribute to the Pet Supply Collection presented by Walgreens will be eligible to win a variety of autographed Penguins memorabilia, and receive a coupon good for 15% off your next purchase at participating Walgreens locations. Valid through 2/10/12, some exclusions apply.
