2:58 PM: You can't win them all. The Penguins managed to out shoot the Flyers, 28-20, but couldn't manage to come out with the win.

2:57 PM: Darroll Powe scores an empty-netter with 27 seconds left to increase the Flyers' lead to 3-1.

2:43 PM: The Penguins cut the Flyers' lead in half with a power-play goal halfway through the third period. Letang pinched into the zone with the puck and cycled it to Crosby on the near side. Rather than return to his position on the point, Letang skated to the net and was at the back door to pound in a perfect cross-crease pass from Crosby for the goal. Flyers 2, Penguins 1.

2:37 PM: The crowd showed some enthusiasm after Gonchar returned to the ice from a four minute penalty, but Biron is doing everything humanly possible to keep the Pens out of this game.

2:24 PM: The Penguins have not abandoned their up-tempo, north-south game and hopefully it will pay off with a few points here as the third period starts back up.

2:06 PM: The second period ends and the Penguins are still trailing the Flyers despite again outshooting them, 11-5, in the period.

1:39 PM: the game goes into four-on-four for two minutes and the Penguins look completely re-energized. The Penguins dominated the four-on-four with superb efforts from Crosby, Malkin and Staal, but they couldn't manage to get one in the net.

1:34 PM: The Flyers get another power-play goal and earn a 2-goal lead. Mike Richards dished the puck from the near half wall to Jeff Carter. Carter passed the puck through the slot to Scott Hartnell at the backdoor. Hartnell was just in the right spot because Carter's pass deflected off of Hartnell's skate and into the net. Flyers 2, Penguins 0.

1:27 PM: The Penguins begin the second period on the power play - we'll see what they can do with it. The Mellon Arena Crowd has been oddly quit for a Penguins vs. Flyers game.

1:09 PM: The first period ends with the Penguins trailing the Flyers, 1-0, despite outshooting Philadelphia, 10-5, in the frame.

1:01 PM: The Penguins could not convert on the power play but they had a couple of good chances.

12:59: The game looks pretty even so far. Shots so far are Penguins 6, Flyers 4. The Penguins will now get their first power play opportunity as Jeff Carter is in the box for goaltender interference.

12:43 PM: The Flyers net the first point of the game on a power-play opportunity. Bill Guerin was in the box for holding. There was a scrum in front of then net and Rob Scuderi attempted to clear the puck but Simon Gagne intercepted it and wristed it into the net. Flyers 1, Penguins 0.

12:33 PM: The Pens (5th place in the Eastern Conference) face off against the 4th place Flyers in what could potentially be a playoff preview game.

Marc-Andre Fleury is starting in net for the Penguins. Penguins scratches are forward Craig Adams and defenseman Philippe Boucher.

The Flyers have Martin Biron in net and have scratched defenseman Danny Syvret.
