10:01 PM: The Penguins win their second game in a row, besting the Blue Jackets, 4-1, with a remarkable team effort. The three stars of the game:

1. Kris Letang
2. Sidney Crosby
3. Marc-Andre Fleury

9:57 PM: Columbus pulls its goalie and Crosby puts in an empty-netter from in front of the Blue Jackets bench, ensuring the Pens victory over Columbus with just 26 seconds remaining in the tilt. Penguins 4, Blue Jackets 1.

9:50 PM: Dubielewicz skated out to block a shot and left an empty net for Dupuis to shoot on but Dupuis couldn't get the shot off in time.

9:41 PM: The Blue Jackets end the Pens shut out hopes with a power-play goal. Kristian Huselius passed the puck from behind the Pens net in the far corner out to Fedor Tyutin who slipped it past Fleury in the slot. Penguins 3, Blue Jackets 1.

9:23 PM: The Penguins and Blue Jackets resume play in the third period.

9:07 PM: The second period ends - and what a period it was for the Penguins who lead the Jackets, 3-0.

In other NHL games of interest tonight; New Jersey leads Atlanta 5-1 at the end of two, Buffalo leads Montreal 2-1 after two, and the New York Rangers trial Dallas, 2-1, in the first. 

8:59 PM: It's quite a night for Letang as he nets his second goal of the game and fifth of the season, giving the Pens a 3-0 lead over Columbus. Crosby skated the puck through the near circle and left a perfect drop-pass for Letang who placed it in the top left corner with ease. Penguins 3, Blue Jackets 0.

8:55 PM: Things get heated in the far corner of the Penguins zone after Orpik shoves a Columbus player into the boards but the referee's break up the tussle before anything comes of it.

8:42 PM: Sykora nets a goal to put the Pens up 2-0! Malkin passed the puck to Orpik at Columbus' blue line. Orpik skated the puck in along the near boards and shot the puck toward Sykora in the slot. Sykora then re-directed the shot through Dubielewics' five-hole for his 21st goal of the season. Penguins 2, Blue Jackets 0.

8:38 PM: The Penguins score a power-play goal! Crosby sent a laser pass across the top of the near circle to Letang who took one shot which bounced off of Columbus defenseman Mike Commodore. The puck came right back to Letang who pounded the puck in for the score. Penguins 1, Blue Jackets 0.

8:31 PM: The Second period begins.

8:12 PM: The first period ends with Columbus dominating the period in shots, 15-9, although they had two power-play advantages in the period.

8:05 PM: Nash, the Blue Jackets leading scorer, had a potent wraparound attempt but was thwarted by Fleury who made a spectacular sliding-right-pad save to keep the score tied at 0-0.

7:47 PM: Shots are tied at, 4-4, after six minutes of play.

7:35 PM: The NHL and the Penguins presented Miroslav Satan with a silver stick in honor of playing 1000-career games. 

7:35 PM: After an incredible 4-3, come-from-behind overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night the Penguins are ready to take on Rick Nash and the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at Mellon Arena.

Marc-Andre Fleury will start in net for the Penguins. Scratches for the Pens tonight are forward Christopher Minard and defensemen Alex Goligoski and Philippe Boucher.

Wade Dubielewics is starting net for Columbus. Scratches for the Blue Jackets are forward Andrew Murray, defensemen Marc Methot and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and goalie Steve Mason.
