Max Talbot sat out Wednesday's practice with a sore leg. He won't play in Thursday's final pre-season game against Jokerit in Helsinki, Finland and will be re-evaluated before Saturday's regular-season opener against the Ottawa Senators here in Stockholm.

Marc-Andre Fleury and Dany Sabourin will split the goaltending duties against Jokerit. Sidney Crosby will center for Miroslav Satan and Ruslan Fedotenko, while Evgeni Malkin will skate with Jordan Staal and Petr Sykora. With Talbot out for the Finland  game, Coach Michel Therrien will have to shuffle his third and fourth line combinations, but Matt Cooke and Pascal Dupuis are expected to be the wingers on the third line.

The Penguins will have a morning skate in Stockholm Thursday before taking a one-hour flight across the Baltic Sea to Helsinki. They will return to Stockholm after the game Thursday night.

Petr Sykora returned to practice Wednesday morning after missing the first two workouts in Sweden (sore throat). The Penguins skated for the first time at Globe Arena, where they'll face the Ottawa Senators Saturday and Sunday. Globe Arena, which normally has a larger European-sized ice surface, was converted to an NHL surface for these two games. Among those watching the workout was Penguins owner Mario Lemieux.
