Pens to Host 'Free Game for Kids' Sept. 21

The Pittsburgh Penguins will host their third annual “Free Game for Kids” when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets in a preseason game Saturday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center

More than 18,000 free tickets are currently being distributed to youth hockey groups and other local youth organizations throughout the region.

“It’s a great way for our organization to reach out to the youth of our region and give them the chance to experience the excitement of Penguins hockey at CONSOL Energy Center,” said David Morehouse, CEO and President of the Penguins. “And it creates a very unique game-day atmosphere for our players and coaches.”

The Penguins open their preseason schedule Sunday, Sept. 15 at Columbus at 6 p.m.

The preseason home opener is the next night – Monday, Sept. 16 vs. Detroit at 7 p.m.

All six Penguins preseason games will be televised – four by ROOT Sports and two by WPCW.

Penguins 2013 Pre-Season Schedule:

Sunday, Sept. 15 at Columbus   6 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 16  DETROIT  7 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 19  at Chicago TBA
Saturday, Sept. 21 COLUMBUS 4 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 23  CHICAGO  7 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Detroit  7:30 p.m.
