This unique program, funded by the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, also will include a special floor hockey curriculum for physical education classrooms – which may be used simultaneously by community recreation programs.
The goal is to have the program operating in 290 elementary schools in the county (public and private), impacting more than 80,000 students.
“Especially at a time when school districts are facing challenges with funding for programs, we think this is a great way to provide free equipment and instruction to enhance physical education in elementary schools throughout the county,” said Dave Soltesz, president of the Penguins Foundation.
School administrators will be receiving information and videos on the program and will be able to sign up by the end of the current school year. For more information, administrators may email email@example.com
