FSN Pittsburgh, the exclusive rights-holder for Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Pirates regional telecasts, delivered a first of its kind doubleheader on Monday to Pittsburgh
The regional sports network produced live the NHL’s Stanley Cup Round One/Game Three with the Penguins defeating the Ottawa Senators, 4-1, and then televised live the Pirates’ 6-4 victory in Los Angeles.
The night celebrated over seven and a half hours of live Pittsburgh professional sports to the over 2.3 million FSN Pittsburgh subscribers. Production teams coordinated the telecasts from FSN’s headquarters on the North Shore to two countries in two time zones.
The first game of the doubleheader recorded the third highest rated Penguins game on FSN Pittsburgh with a 16.49 rating. The doubleheader scored FSN the highest network rating in Pittsburgh in primetime Monday night with a 13.1.
“When we look back on last night, it proved to be one of the more exciting and challenging nights for the entire FSN team. We are fortunate to have a talented and dedicated staff to execute this doubleheader for our viewers,” said Ted Black, Sr. Vice President/General Manager FSN Pittsburgh. “On top of it all, both teams are in the midst of winning streaks. It was a great night for TV.”
